An on time post! Hooray! We’ve been slacking off so much on the house that I actually found time to post the meager collection of photos we collected last week. The camera has sort of taken a back seat to things like cooking and cleaning and making sure the kids are happy. Weird, I know.

“Moving” is sort of a fluid thing. Technically we moved into our new house at the end of last week. We’re cooking in it and sleeping in it and working in it…but we’re still moving. The dining room is in an unusable state due to a large collection of yet-to-be-put-on-the-wall pictures and art. The office awaits love that I cannot give it before it can be worked in. Curtains lie on the floors! Shelves are propped against the walls! Cats and dogs, living together, etc., etc.

Max and Owen are adapting well to their new surroundings, though Max is ever the observant one around here. He noticed some minor paint damage on one of the window sills and immediately yelled, “The new house is BROKEN!” Thankfully he hasn’t noticed any other structural flaws. I’m sure he’ll let us know when he does.

Thankfully we had some help in the form of a visit from Nan and Papa over the weekend. That allowed us to get a decent bit of the house in order.

…and allowed Nan to do this a lot.

…and this.

Max had quite a good time hanging out with his grandparents.

Props to Papa for this nice shot.

Of course, that may have had something to do with the fact that they always let him do stuff that we might not.

…like mess with the wind chime. At one point he was throwing stuff at it.

We also got a visit from Mimi and Pappaw, but things were a bit crazy (not to mention that we left for dinner) so unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to snap any photos. We did get a chance to show them Owen’s new trick, though.

Yep. Sitting up now. He refuses to go anywhere near being on his belly…should make learning to crawl interesting.

Now I must go and break the move-in paralysis by measuring where something goes on the wall. Doesn’t matter what. Just something.
