This week we celebrated a big milestone when Owen completed his last year of day care. We’ve had one or both boys there since January 2009, so it’s kind of crazy to think that it’s all coming to an end. It’s an emotional time, and not just because of the tears of joy that come with thinking about how much heavier our wallets are about to be.
Owen and his class have been practicing for their graduation ceremony for weeks, and he was very excited to show off for us. I’ll just let the pictures tell the story.
It’s a very strange feeling knowing that both of our kids have outgrown this place. People are always telling us that the time flies and that we should enjoy it while it lasts. I’m not so sure about that, though. These years have had their share of trials and tribulations but also a lot of fun, and right now it feels like the pace depends on what kind of day we’re having. This was a good one, though, and it does seem like those are the ones that are over too soon.
Owen’s week wasn’t over after his graduation, as he had a party to attend over the weekend. Max and I sat that one out, but his mom went with him and managed to snap a couple of photos to share.
Much cooking was had, but I’m led to believe that Owen (picky eater that he is) wasn’t impressed with the final result. At least he had fun making it.
The photos of course remind me that we still have two kids, and as the end of the summer draws near our other son has found that his procrastination has caught up with him. He had a reading challenge to finish before the next school year starts and still had a few bingo spots to fill in. One of them was reading to a family member, another was reading under a table.
On Sunday we took a trip up to Sherman to make sure the boys could get some time in Mimi and Pappaw’s pool. Have to get as many of those in as we can.

Ahh, Gangnam Style. Some day I’m going to compile a set of photos of Max doing whatever dance was popular at the time.
It was quite the weekend for us, and things are only going to get crazier from here. School starts in a few weeks and we’re beginning our scramble to get everything ready. If you want to check out the rest of the photos from the week you can click here. Otherwise we’ll see you next time!
