This week we found out some very good news for Christy. She passed her glucose tolerance test on the first try, so she can have as many milkshakes and cupcakes as she wants! Seems like a pretty big win for Max, too. I don’t think he’d be quite so happy if he had to go on a high-veggie low sugar diet for the next few months.

So, with that out of the way, onwards to randomtown!

Actually, this is somewhat related to the glucose test. It seems like it’s almost common knowledge that women crave foods during prengnacy, but reality is sometimes a cruel mistress. It turns out that Christy craves nothing at all, save for the very rare sweet treat.

An important piece of background here is that I’ve been working hard to lose weight for the past few years. As such, this is just completely unfair. This was supposed to be our time to get all fat and happy together, but without the constant cravings to spur me to excess, I can’t fatten myself up. Madness!

Instead, we plod along from day to day, trying to figure out what we’re going to eat for dinner. It’s truly a sad state of affairs, considering we could be having cake for breakfast and pudding for dinner.

Oh well, maybe next time. Until then, here’s some pictures of our weekend with the Larkins, which was one of the best weekends we’ve had in a while.

Some babies just love kitties.

Christy gets a little practice with baby Barrett.
