Whirlwind week!

< | >

This week has been such a blur! It seemed like we had something going on almost every day of the week.

We have all been fighting a cold this week, including Max, which has made things a bit more difficult around here. Poor Max gets so stuffy sometimes that we have to break out the saline drops and bulb syringe to help him out. It’s officially my least favorite thing in the world.

Nan’s work brought her to Dallas this week, so we were lucky enough to see her on Tuesday night for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. (Thanks again, Nan!)

Nan only lets us keep the pictures where Max looks happy.

Thursday was my birthday (and Jenn’s – Happy B-day, Jenn!), so Jon spoiled me rotten with birthday cake from the bakery that made our wedding cakes (yum!). He also surprised me with a beautiful necklace that combines my and Max’s birthstones (I know I say it all the time, but I’m so very lucky to have him!).

Friday night, Max had his first big family outing – my uncle Wes’ wedding. It was such a treat for all of us to get dressed up for the occasion. Unfortunately, Max was a bit of a fuss-bucket that night, so we never got around to taking pictures of him in all his cuteness. Hopefully Aunt JoAnn caught at least one. Otherwise, we’ll just dress him up again this week and take pics for everyone to coo over. We also had to miss parts of the wedding and reception, due to Max’s short feeding schedule. However, it was still great to see all of the family that was there, and that many family members got to meet Max.

Saturday, Nan and Papa drove up from Houston to spend a little extra time with Max. We spent Saturday cooking and hanging out around the house, until Nan, Papa, and Jon forced me to go out for a dinner/movie date with Jon. Despite not wanting to leave my little guy at home, we managed to enjoy our evening out immensely. However, it will be a while before we do that again. I just missed him so much that by the time the movie was over, I was bolting for the door to get back home!

He was in good hands while we were in the house. I can only assume that he was doing Cuervo shots with Poppa while we were out.

All in all, the week was really good. Max is continuing to grow like a very adorable weed. One of the sleepers we bought him this week is a 6 months! He’s not a round baby, but he sure is long! I’m afraid we’ll have to move away from feetsie pajamas pretty soon, because the legs and feet just won’t be long enough for him, as you can see from the carnage that is one of his 3-6 months pajamas!

This thing zips from the bottom up. Some babies are just meant to be free.

Here’s hoping that we have a quieter (and healthier) week this week!
