We had a bit of a laid back week this time around, compared to our adventures with ERs and killer whales. We certainly didn’t mind. It let us get used to the idea of taking care of Max’s injury and start some much needed work on Owen’s nursery.
After a week and a half of care, concern, and colored coban, we finally got the okay from the doctor to leave Max’s hand unfettered by layer after layer of protective material. We were a little unsure about the whole thing, but Max seems to be handling it like a champ. Though he did miss his bandages for the first day or so. He was very upset when the doctor wouldn’t give him some more “green”.
He’s been getting more and more into coloring lately, demanding it after every meal if he can.
He’s also becoming completely obsessed with fish for some reason. We downloaded a fish screen saver for the laptop to sate his appetite, and now it’s all he wants to see (aside from “Emma!”). He’s also enjoying the fish app I snagged for my iPod. I’m starting to think we’re going to have to get him one of those fake fish tanks just to keep up with his demands. Maybe a trip to the aquarium is in order.
For the most part we spent the week hanging around the house. I’ve been looking for an excuse to use a Best Buy gift card I got for my birthday, so I picked up a copy of Wii Sports Resort.
Mild cartoon violence is okay for a two year old, right?
The rest of the week has been a rush to get Owen’s nursery ready for prime time. We’re down to six weeks so if we’re going to get it done, it’s got to get done now. Max is happy to help.
