Different Shoes

As my birthday celebrations drew to a close, we found ourselves in yet another recovery week. Most of the time this involves just drawing the shades and trying to keep ourselves out of the summer heat. This was no exception, aside from a brief excursion on the weekend.

Often when I get the camera out, the boys demand that I take a photo.

…and if you humor one of them…

We did have a bit of time on the Wii (mostly Wii Fit, with a little Wii Sports), and during that time we reintroduced the idea of bowling to the kids. We decided at the end of the week that they’d been good enough for us to take them out for the real thing.

Owen had no trouble mastering the ramp.

Max tried his hand at a little granny bowling, but opted for the ramp more often than not.

His brother grew bored by the end and opted for a game of “Flip the specials card” instead.

Our remaining time was spent in the arcade, where the boys amassed a reasonable pile of virtual tickets to redeem for prizes. I have no photos of this process because they needed quite a bit of help getting there. Everyone left happy, so I’m sure we’ll be back before too long.
