Aunt Jenn, Max’s Hair, and a Buddy Visit

< | >

After all the snow and other assorted insanity, it was high time for a slow week. Slow being a relative term, of course, since we did do a bit of driving around as things unfolded.

Our first bit of driving took us to meet up with my sister, who was in town for a teacher conference. The boys always love getting to see their Aunt Jenn, especially because she likes to pick one of their favorite places to have dinner.

See? Excitement.

Boundless, unbridled excitement.

The rest of the week went as weeks go around here. Swim class for Owen, work for us, school for the boys. We celebrated Christy’s birthday on Thursday with presents and steak and lobster and flowers and all sorts of fanfare, but in all that I somehow didn’t manage to take a single photo. I’ll have to keep that in mind next year.

Friday came, and with it an event that I had no excuse to avoid photographing. The boys always have some sort of activity planned at school for what is known as Fun Friday. Max’s was a little more exciting than Owen’s this week.

Crazy hair week = colored hair spray.

Smiley face in the back, polka dots up front.

I think it’s mostly come out by now. So much for reading the directions that say, “Do not use on light blonde hair.”

The following day, we took a trip out to see some old friends. This being Christy’s birthday weekend, she was given a present when we arrived.

She needed some help opening it, clearly.

It didn’t take long for the boys to settle into their normal routine for these visits.

I don’t know where they get this from.

DUDE YOU GOTTA PICK UP THE…*sigh*

Untitled

Due to a shortage of controllers, Owen had to make his own fun.

Didn’t take him long to find this thing.

While all that was going on, the moms were peacefully conversing in the downstairs area. Apparently the younger boys found this unacceptable, as Alex started asking for his mommy. This caused Owen to make the same demand.

So down they went, to play together in a rare event.

Crazy time turned into dinner time, after which was bath time, which was followed by more crazy time.

Untitled

Owen is really into action figures these days.

Max was far more interested in the kitty.

So interested, in fact, that he convinced Nora to retrieve the Cat That Doesn’t Exist from his hiding place.

We’re going to have a cat within a year, I just know it.
