End of the School Year

< | >

We had some fun with Mimi and Pappaw. We had some fun with Nan and Papa. Now it’s time to have some fun on our own (with a couple of friends here and there). The school year is drawing to a close so there’s good reason to celebrate all around.

Max had his last day of Kindergarten this week, but both boys also had their last swim class of the session.

Owen seemed happy about it.

Mostly because he got to do this.

Forgot my goggles.

Max was pretty excited too.

This would be his very last swim class. Only way to go from here is swim team if he’s interested.

Last Day of Swim Class

Max had an end-of-year party scheduled for Thursday, so Christy and I volunteered our services to help out.

I think he was happy to see us there.

First the kids put together a picture frame.

Then they goofed off for a bit.

Then they goofed off some more.

After lots of limbo time and hot potato (with a coconut) it was time for everyone to go their separate ways.

Right after we got one last photo with his teacher.

That afternoon we tried to leave the boys to their own devices. This meant telling them to play in the play room. Apparently they formulated a plan to escape the house while they were in there.

I’m not allowed to tell superheroes they can’t go outside.

They were having a lot of fun out there.

And just like that, it was the last day of Kindergarten.

Kind of hard to believe, really.

Cliche alert! Seems like this was just yesterday.

On Saturday, Max and I had a birthday party to attend for one of his buddies. They decided to have it at our local Recreation Center, which meant lots of swimming and sliding and not nearly as many photos as usual (my camera isn’t waterproof).

Max is quite the jumper.

He didn’t mind letting his buddies push him, either.

He loves to show off.

Owen wasn’t invited along for the party so we felt it only fair to give him some fun time to himself the following day.

No, that’s not a mistake. Jumper.

He and I had a lot of fun bouncing around and playing dodgeball, but the weekend had to end eventually. We did have one last thing to take care of, since we’re entering the heat of the summer.

Somebody needs a haircut.

Ahhh. Much better.

Now we can officially close out the school year. If you want to check out the rest of the photos from the week, click here. Otherwise we’ll see you next time!
